Good Hope Art Studios is hosting an exciting exhibition at the Artscape Lower Theatre Foyer from Monday 16 until Friday 27, November. The exhibition will consist of various A4 and A5 size paintings on light weight wooden blocks that are produced by our very own local emerging South African artists at an affordable price. Truworths Social Development Fund along with Good Hope Art Studios hosted two, four week workshops in July and August 2009 at the Castle of Good Hope. Truworths has supported emerging artists’ development for more than 10 years and has partnered with Good Hope Art for the past three years.
The 4 week workshops focused on young, previously disadvantaged, local emerging visual artists (formal or self trained), aged between 20 and 30. The objectives of the workshops were to provide the artists with business, marketing, and networking skills, whilst producing saleable works of art. Truworths sponsored materials, travel allowances, an equipped studio space, as well as the opportunity to exhibit and sell their works at their Head Office in Cape Town.
The next workshop will commence in February 2010 and will focus on life drawing, still life, landscape, cityscape and abstract. |
